Meet Orlando and Sarah of Orly and Edgar Co. – They’re in the business of filming and producing modern wedding films, and they sure have lots of passion for it!
What inspired you to start your business?
Orlando has been passionate about film since boyhood and my (Sarah) background is in wedding photography. One day I recommended to Orlando we explore film-making… soon after I picked up a movie camera and was r subjects was reminded of the cine camera home footage of Old Hollywood. My fascination with colour, detail and flattering angles, and Orlando’s obsession with sweeping cinematic wide shots were the perfect ingredients for our company!
What’s your favourite part about working in the wedding industry?
We love when our brides (and sometimes grooms) cry with happiness when they see their wedding film for the first time, and that we often make long-term friends out of our wedding clients.
Share a piece of advice with our brides:
Don’t underestimate the amount of guests that will want to pull you aside and give you their best wishes and love on your wedding day!
Do you have any fun news coming up that you’d like to share?
We have weddings for 2016 in England, Wales, Italy and The Caribbean as well as B.C. and Alberta! This is the first year we are launching movie booths at weddings – we have done these before at special events and they are such a hit!
What’s a wedding trend that you’re totally in love with right now?
We love love love the ‘reveal’ where a bride and groom meet just before the ceremony. They get to look into each other’s eyes and really take in the significance of the day, by themselves for a few minutes.
