We are so thrilled to introduce Amanda – the creative and talented lady behind joi de cristaux. She is passionate about crystals and jewelry and loves to connect through her creations.
What inspired you to start your business?
I had been going through a negative time in my life, when I found crystals and jewelry making. It inspired me to be a more positive person, I was (and still am) also inspired by the term joie de vivre, which means a cheerful enjoyment of life, and wanted to share exactly that through my creations and business.
What’s your favorite part about working in the wedding industry?
Although I am an emerging artist, I’ve had the opportunity in creating custom orders for brides and bridal parties. I love being able to create special pieces for the bride and her party!
Share a piece of advice with our brides:
“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new” – Socrates. “Do what you can, where you are, with what you have” – Unknown. My own personal quirks and joi de cristaux is about spreading that joie de vivre! I always write mantras and affirmations on every package I send out. Spread those good vibes to everyone!
Do you have any fun news coming up that you’d like to share?
I am currently taking continuing education courses at ACAD to receive the Jewellery Skills Certificate of Achievement! While I am still early on in the program, I have big dreams of creating fine jewelry. I am also looking very forward to a local “lady boss” meetup by YYC Girl Gang, I am so excited to be meeting local entrepreneurial boss babes at the end of February!
What’s a wedding trend that you’re totally in love with right now?
It may be an old trend, but the newer style calligraphy for invitations and signage is absolutely STUNNING, even more when it’s a DIY by the bride themselves. I’ve also found that shopping handmade and local for wedding parties have become an even bigger trend, which is absolutely amazing.
